Hi,
I was at the “Take Back The Fifth” town hall meeting and thought it was great! I don’t live in the fifth district but I want to help!
I was watching the AIG hearing yesterday where Mr. Garrett was the first to speak. In his speech, he said more or less chided the committee in a “told you so moment” that this is what happens when there is no oversight!
In a great come back by Mr. Barney Frank, he quickly slap down Garrett and said his committee asked or did whatever it was he was chiding about. He, Mr. Garrett was never around for the committee meeting!!! It happened when the Congressional session first started during the noon hour. You can go back to C-Span and watch!
I thought it was great! Anyway, I am rooting to get rid of that hedious man who represents a district in New Jersey!!!!!! He does not belong in New Jersey!

I used to have permissions to blog here, but need to contact Michael and/or Matthew for my permissions to be re-instated. Put that aside for the moment.
Garrett’s money quote for voting against taxing the AIG bonuses (http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2009/roll143.xml):
“This tax gives the government permission to take what is private property.”
Where does one start? Also note that he was, once again, Mr. 12-1.
I credit R. Matthew Fretz, over at Blog the Fifth (http://blogthefifth.blogspot.com/)

Frank Takes the Mic | 10:16 a.m. The committee chairman said both the Treasury Secretary and chairman of the Federal Reserve couldn’t make the hearing today, but would attend another.
Treasury and the Fed both oversee A.I.G., and in fact, some Democrats have pointed out that A.I.G. received its first bailouts from the Fed before Congress passed the fall bailout plan.
Mr. Frank takes his first shot at Republicans, insisting that Mr. Garrett didn’t even bother to ask questions about one of these issues at a hearing held last July, well in advance of the A.I.G.
“I think that a number of people left their fight in the gym when it came to the actual confrontation with Mr. Bernanke,” Mr. Frank just said of his colleagues’ lack of serious questioning of Ben Bernanke, the Fed chairman.
Geithner Under Fire | 10:11 a.m. Barely 10 minutes into the hearing, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner comes under heated criticism, by Representative Scott Garrett of New Jersey. In addition to Mr. Liddy, Mr. Geithner may be the other pinata, in absentia, at this hearing. Republicans this week have been bashing him all this week for saying he did not learn of the most recent bonuses — paid last Friday — until late last week.
I registered #dumpgarrett as a twitter hashtag at TagDef.

Garrett’s idea of a healthy NJ–a healthy
environment and future for:Real Estate

and Engineers.
Did you read in The Record that the governour flew over distressed areas effected by the most
recent catastrophic storm–but did not stop
to speak with or show empathy with-anybody!
Yop, he flew…as does Scott Garrett…
but We are Not–the ” Cuckoo’s Nest!”
