I Asked Scott Garrett What He Stands For:

He Ran Away.

Congressman Scott Garrett does not deserve to represent the 5th District of New Jersey. He has a pitiful voting record that has a minimal effect on the lives of his constituents and the rest of the country. While Garrett did not cause the current economic crisis or lead us into the Iraq quagmire, he certainly did nothing to prevent either debacle – similar to the constant stream of other societal issues he refuses to address as a public official. Here is how Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts responded to Garrett’s claim that he “valiantly” attempted to prevent the current economic collapse:

“Yes, the gentleman from New Jersey offered amendment after amendment—in his head. This is a serial violator writing on the mirror, ‘Stop me before I don’t legislate again.’ …I know it is a bad feeling not to get your own party with you. Sometimes, [your amendments] were defeated by only 60 percent of Republicans.”

Scott Garrett wants you to believe he has the public’s best interests at heart when he votes in Congress. Unfortunately he does not – he consistently votes against bills and amendments that would greatly benefit New Jersey residents and other Americans while voting for ones that have either a negative or inconsequential impact on peoples’ lives.

We need you to help us unseat Congressman Garrett and elect someone who will work to improve New Jersey’s 5th District and the lives of its residents. Hi Erik, this is Michael Simonson. The reason there are no names attached to posts is because of a glitch with the website we used to create the blog. From now on our names will be attached to posts.
